Saw Robert tonight at Woking. Very good.
Hard work in such a cavern of a building.
Robert Powell was brilliant last night in Brighton some of the content is 'slightly' dated, but he handled it brilliantly, as if sharing the irony with the audience. Can't think of anyone currently who could have done a better job. Much enjoyed by us all thanks Robert.
The play was a joy from start to finish. Robert Powell played the part exceptionally well and captured the true spirit of Jeffrey Bernard, and really looked as if he was enjoying the role. The support cast were a credit to the production and made the whole performance a MUST SEE.
Just seen this in Oxford and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a good response from the audience and by the end I really felt as though I knew something of the man. I am sure he would have been infuriating to know but he was presented in a very sympathetic way and the audience was drawn into the 'conversation'.
I saw this last night in Glasgow. Robert and all other cast members were superb. A brilliant night apart from an incredibly loud person in the audience to my right.
